Happy Holidays All.
New to posting on the forum. I’ve been reading and researching on here for quite awhile. I knew my 2007 Jeep GC Overland with 190k miles on it was going to have to be replaced soon. Given how many miles I drive, I knew an Ecodiesel would be ideal. Thanks to this forum, I was able to hear directly from other owners. Finally I felt comfortable buying a 2014 with all of the software updates from Jeep. I looked for a few months, found a deal, and went to see it. The car was in mint condition with only 50k miles on it. And a price that seemed right. I’m never one to trust a used car dealer. Ever. I asked to see the EGR tube and valve to see how it was taken care of. The sales rep looked at me like I was crazy. Nonetheless within 15 minutes I saw the tube and intake valve. I was surprised how clean it actuall was. Long story short, I bought the car.
Crazy the updates in the cabin over the last 7 years. I love the car. Averaged about 27 MPG on the drive home (about 80 miles). My only gripe would be the cars performance in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. Obvious lag and somewhat sluggish performance when you want it. In sport mode it’s not as noticeable but in drive it seems to be bad. I’m guessing this is for one, the known turbo lag and two, the fact I’ve never driven an 8 speed transition . Maybe also because I’m coming from
The Hemi. Any who that brings me to my question:
I love about 15 miles from GDE. Im planning on the hot tune to fix some of my complaints. Has anyone had issues with the warranty or dealer with the GDE tune? Also, has anyone had the transmission tune? I’m considering both or just the hot tune.
Appreciate any help you can give. And all the help with my research over the last 3 months! Here’s fingers crossed that I didn’t buy a lemon!
