Definitely mean looking, but that's a 2013 WK model.
I do too but I'm not wild about the honeycomb pattern on the non-flow through lower fascia. That's going to be a PITA for scrubbing the bugs out... LOL.
Yeah hopefully it's actually functional or else it will be a pain :)
From what I've seen, it's entirely closed. I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with something for it though.
You'd think there would be an intercooler down there and it would need the airflow???
The diesel's turbo looks like it's at the rear of the engine and not easy to get at. Can't say that I've spotted an intercooler but I would assume there has to be one.
It could be stacked infront of the radiator?
Could be... the engine compartment is sized for the Hemi V8. With the gas V6 there's enough room to climb in and stand on the ground between the engine and radiator. The last time I saw an engine compartment like that was back when I bought a full size 1977 Buick Regal with a V6... LMAO.
This is the 2011 European Grand Cherokee 3.0L CRD engine compartment. It looks a little fuller than with the 3.6L gas V6 but there's a lot of open space in front of that engine cover.

Looks pretty fancy! Do we know what rpm's it makes peak torque at?
240 HP @ 3600 RPM, 420 FT-LBS @ 2000 RPM. Or at least that's what Edmund's is stating.
