I ordered a 2015 diesel Grand Cherokee on June 28th because my dealer gave me a good deal on an ordered vehicle. I finally got a build and ship date of November 10th but my dealer found out the ship date has been delayed because changes the factory is making in the DEF delivery system. I've been told the new ship date will be sometime in early December. I've special ordered cars before and never had this kind of delay. I doubt if the car will be delivered this year. Chrysler has told me I will get two years of free maintenance because of the delay but I haven't seen that in writing yet.

Who is your dealer?

I have actually been by there on my way to Robber's Cave. I prefer the smaller dealerships, but found what I wanted through Consumer's car location buyer service. My choices in central OK were one of three larger dealerships. I'm sure the wait will be worth it for you.

Thanks. After reading about the 2014 DEF problems, I'm a little worried about taking delivery of the Jeep. I have a Chevy Duramax diesel that has been bulletproof. It's an older model without urea injection. Hope Chrysler has resolved their DEF problems when they finally start building the 2015s.

I ordered our Diesel on June 9th, the day they opened the 2015 orders. Like you I have been waiting as well and am close to cancelling my order. I've been called by a "factory rep" who stated that the line was up and running but only 1 out of 15 Jeeps would be a diesel model. He also said that we would have preference over dealers because we ordered them. I pushed back when they offered a 3 year maintenance plan and told them to give me a 5 year maintenance plan. Have not heard back but that was Monday. We will see. Keep me posted, I am all about keeping the stealerships and Jeep (Chrysler) honest.

Got a call today from my dealer. He said my GC was built on 11/26 and is in transit. I told him the other day I was going to cancel my order if the car wasn't built before 12/1. I have noticed their are some diesel jeeps in transit to dealers when you search the new GC inventory. Since you ordered your car before I did, maybe yours is in transit also. Hope they've fixed the DEF problems on the 2015s.

Glad to hear you are getting yours. I just called my dealer to see if there is an update. Still sitting in D1 status. Told him that I will cancel my order if I don't have confirmation it is going down the line by Dec 5th.

Still have not received my vehicle but I spoke with my dealer last Friday and he has received the invoice. He thinks the vehicle will arrive any day. I did ask him if the invoice included the free maintenance contract that Chrysler offered me in September. It was evidently not included on the invoice. I called Chrysler today and no one could tell me anything about the free maintenance. After holding 30 minutes they cut me off. I've also read that they have offered others waiting on orders additional years of Sirus radio plus the maintenance contract. I plan to tell my dealer I will not accept the vehicle if I don't get the maintenance. I'd like to know what they have offered you and if it is in writing. Thanks.

I am glad we are keeping the stealerships, I mean dealerships, honest. Still do not even have a build date for my Jeep yet. We have started looking at LR4's but they do not offer a diesel option so our choices are limited. I have also seen that some are being offered 5 years Sirus radio and traffic, along with the maintenance contract.

I called the dealer today and spoke with the GM and told him that I am not happy. I have not only missed out on some amazing incentives (check the Jeep website there were some good ones) and that they are shipping 15's to other dealers even though our orders are supposed to have preference. When he couldn't answer I told him I would like the "Factory Reps" contact info along with the "Factory Reps" manager's contact info. I will make sure I bring up the Sirius and maintene when I speak to the tomorrow. If they even call which seems to be something the factory rep does not do very well. I'll keep you posted.

Just curious if you received your Jeep yet?
No. Called my dealer last week and he hasn't seen the car. He told me before it was in Oklahoma City, which is 125 miles from the dealer. He also contacted Chrysler about the maintenance contract I was offered and they denied any knowledge of the offer. If the car ever makes its way to the dealer, I'm not sure I'll accept the order.

I see there are 2015 diesels in stock on dealer lots now. Not sure why Chrysler didn't give priority to orders that were placed in June? Don't like the way they have treated me so far.

I also ordered a 15 diesel in Sept and has had two build dates now that have both come and gone with no progress yet. Afraid I'll be cancelling the order this week if it hasn't been started.

I found that strange as well. Using the Jeep's "Find New Car Inventory" I was starting to see 15 Diesels pop up at dealerships in the Midwest (Oklahoma, Iowa and Nebraska). I called my dealer and they were at a loss and said they would contact the "factory rep". While I am pushing to get these Jeep it is almost a formality now as we have started looking at another vehicels. Our criteria was Off Road capability, towing and fuel economy. The Land Rover LR4 and Toyota Four Runner are both now considerations. The sad thing is these have historicially much better "fit and finish"

I called the Chrysler hotline and attempted to open a case. Come to find out if your Jeep is not built yet they can't open a case. After going from the main call cetner to the "second level customer service" and then getting sent to the "Jeep Specialist Department". The "Specialist" actually called my dealer and spoke to the sames manager, kept me on hold, then came back and told me they will personally look into the issue and get back within 2 days...which was Friday. On Saturday my dealer called and said it moved from D1 to F1 status. To say I am frustrated is an understatement.

Just got off the phone (another 1:45 hours of my life wasted) only to be told they cannot create a case number because our Jeep is too new. I was told that it usually will take about a week before they have all the info in the computer system to open one.

Long story short is my Jeep supposededly was built and is in transit to the dealer. It is set to arrive on Dec 26th. So not only does this mean we missed the Anniversary present (originally planned), we also miss my wife's b-day (Dec 22nd) and can't even call this a Christmas present because it is the day after.

When I told the dealer to canx the order (knowing it was shipped) they quickly said they would call the factory rep and find out what is going on, why the delays and find out about the Sirus and Extended Maintenance plan. Stay tuned...

My vehicle finally made it to the dealer yesterday and I'm scheduled to pick it up today. My dealer was able to confirm the maintenance agreement and says Chrysler is giving another $500 discount at this time. I was ready to cancel the order and buy something else when the dealer called yesterday. Its been a few days short of 6 months since I placed the order. Hope they have the DEF problems resolved on the 2015s. My dealer has been fine to work with but Chrysler needs retrain their staff at customer care.

Got a call from my dealer. Looks like my Jeep is in transit but won't make it here until the 26th. So that is a real insult to injury. At least I would have been able to make this a Christmas gift. The wife still doesn't know I actually ordered it, we've talked about getting her a new Jeep.

Interesting, I did not order one, but I was able to pick one up in South Tulsa on the 27th. There were two in the city at the time, mine is an Overland, the other was a Limited, and there was a maroon Limited in transit from OKC. I guess I just had good timing.

We finally picked it up last night. I contacted Chrysler and after complaining for the umteenth time I was able to get a case number opened. They explained that the dealer has lots of "pull" and I should not leave without some compensation. So i told the dealer I would walk away if they did not impress me and boy did they. Dealer threw in for free:

Max Care for 7 years/100,000 miles
The maintenance plan including oil changes to 100,000 miles
A complete set of all weather mats with GC logo
A coupon booklet with 4 free detailings from the body shop
An extra year of Sirus radio
$500 rebate plus an additional $1,000 off as well

Chrysler still can't say why a pre-ordered Jeep was not delivered first but I thinik this made up for some of my waiting.... Now I get to start putting the long arm lift kit on the 97 ZJ that I ordered back in Novemeber
