So, the first half of the year with my new 2015 Summit the radio bass would disappear totally with no control at all on the equalizer page. It would remain that way until the car was shut off and sat a couple a minutes then restarted. The dealer always stated they had to see it before they can fix it. This happened at least ten times during the first six months of ownership. It does not occur while driving, only after starting the car. Finally it happened after starting while I was next to the dealer so I pulled right in. They said there was a code for "loss of power to radio" Apparently the "code" is only present during the fault and does not store. So they put in a new radio now two months later, the same issue. No bass just a tinny sound. Obviously the woofer is not operating intermittently. The old radio was "flashed" about three times with no help. The new radio was supposedly "flashed" after installation too.

Thanks for posting this. I also have a 2015 Summit and have experienced the same problem. I have only seen the problem a few times and as you suggested, it is fixed by turning the vehicle off and then back on. For now I am living with it, but if you have insight as to what I can say to the dealership to get them to fix it, please let me know. It is very unlikely I will be near a dealership or have the time to stop in, the next time it happens.

Been to the dealer a few times complaining. You have to drive in with it inoperative and put a sign over the start button specifying not to shut the engine off. They can document it and read the "loss of power code" to repair it at a later date. They don't see it, they don't fix it.

The radio is faulty and expensive. Fix it while it's under warranty.

I have an ODB2 device that can run a scan, it sounds like I will need to run a diagnostic check the next time it happens to get the code and show the dealership. The problem has not happened in a few weeks - thanks for the tip on when to get the code.

Sad day Tuesday. I lost the bass on the radio again on the second start of the day. Drove directly to the dealer to document it and there it sits for four days with the techs and Corporate scratching their heads. What a pity that they design these vehicles with computers controlling radios and dome lights and they have no ability to troubleshoot and repair the various symptoms when things don't work right.

So four days at the dealership and they found the speaker amplifier had a bad "pin".

Exactly what I told them to change four days ago. They kept alluding to it's a short an that takes time. No, the symptoms were not a short. It would work fine for a month or two then crap out at the next start after sitting a few minutes. Something would just not turn on, i.e. the amp.

Not that this will solve your problem, but you can reboot the radio without turning the vehicle off. To do this, hold in both the volume and tuning knobs at the same time for about 10-15 seconds. When you release them, the radio screen will go black and then reboot. That may bring your sound back. I had to do this just the other day when the touchscreen wouldn't respond to any input.

So to update the problem is ongoing. I just turned 30,000 miles and after numerous dealer visits and Corporate assistance they have determined that the Amp is bad and intermittent. The Amp was replaced once early before 10,000 miles. I'm hoping the eighth time is a charm.

Thanks for that. I've been off line for some time. There is a software update for the screen freeze.

No fix. Randomly over the course of the month the woofers go out. Three times in March Jeep corporate has no clue either.
Rear seat warmers and A/C outlet are out again after they were repaired twice. Those are used only occasionally.
I've had it.

Electrical Gremlins are really nasty to find. Not just in the new computerized cars in old ones also. I feel your pain as I have gone through similar situations. One of the problems I had with a blower motor in my truck kept dying and it wasn't actually the blower motor it was the controller and one of the leads to the controller was not crimp properly and it caused a high resistance area which increase the voltage to the controller which burned it up. I think you're whole Uconnect harness needs to be replaced and maybe that might help if they got all the connections properly crimped. I am sorry that this has happened to you especially having a summit model.
