Has anyone read about the top manufacturers (Banks, Bully Dog, etc) making tuners or upgrades for this engine yet? I love my diesel jeep (2014), but I'm sure that engine has been detuned for EPA mandates....

Banks is working on VM3.0 tunes and exhaust. I wouldn't consider Bullydog as a top vendor. They are a top seller but not as well respected in the tuning community. Several other tuners have hinted about forthcoming tunes.

Bluespark has a tuning box that I can vouch for. It wakes the Jeep up. I doubt an ECU tune can make any more gains but may provide better driveability. The issue I see is in the Torque Converter dampener springs being battered by the low end torque of a tuned motor.

I think there are a few cold air intake kits out there which might free up a bit of hp, especially on the top end. Are there any exhausts out yet? Don't know if there will be any gains to make there without bypassing the filter. But yeah, I think a tune will do wonders for the power, and might be able to tune out the EGR to keep everything a lot cleaner over time...

Just searched on this regarding tuning. I think a few people are working on reflashes (my preference), but in the meantime, here are three options already on the market.

Option 1:

Option 2:

Option 3:

(Review of this one from another Jeep forum: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f309/diesel-performance-chip-pulled-trigger-2470889/)

And the cold air intake I mentioned (not for use in Cali unfortunately)

Has anyone had any experience with using K&N's air intake filter? I have used with confidence K&N's filter for my 2003 TDI Jetta and my previous GC (2002 4.0L gas). I am concerned about voiding the warranty. VW had no worries but was wondering if anyone has any other views/opinions.

Are you inquiring about Just the filter or entire new air intake system?
I’d be hesitant to use a K&N with our turbos. Look into independent research on the quality & dust passed into the motor.
I plan on keeping mine for well over 200,000 miles so motor/turbo longevity is high on my list. Spoke with a rep at AFE today, they’re adding the 7 layer pro guard filter to the CAI kit since that’s the “closest” to stock paper in terms of blocking dust @ 3 PPM. AFE rep mentioned a frequent cleaning interval @10k miles since the filter (apparently) is that good at blocking the bad stuff.
