Finally got around to installing the exhaust system. I must have the red-headed step child JGC or the bastardized system made on Friday @ 5 PM. Started pulling off the old exhaust & ran into first problem trying to get drivers side 'silencer' off. The damn hanger is on top & barely have enough room to reach up to even find it. I just started jerking on it & got it off. Based on that knowledge, it didn't take long to get passenger side off. However the pipes were at an angle such that I couldn't get the Y-pipe to slide off. I took a ratchet strap & wrapped around pipe & attached other end to receiver. After beating on the Y-pipe for 15 minutes, I finally had the old pipes off. Of course, I had to fire it up to see what it sounded like w/o any pipes... disappointed!! Oh well. I got the new pipes started, but never could get the passenger side tip in the right location centered in the cut out. Drivers side only took some minor tweaking. I needed up leaving the passenger side jacked up. I'll have to mess with it another day. It took me about 5 hrs from start to "finish".
All said, sound is a little deeper at idle. I think it's actually quieter at highway speeds. Difficulty is 3.5 out of 5. Helps to have impact gun & ramps or Jack stands. I've picked up at least 1 mpg. I'll know more in the coming weeks for I just refilled the tank tonight. Light came on at 600 miles. My daily commute is ~33 miles one way w/ only 3 miles around 30 mph & the rest is +55 mph.
