2014 GC Diesel 4X4 delivered in March 2014. 13000 miles. First time in snow 8". Very easy 4 wheel conditions. You need better tires than those delivered stock. Got stuck just going up slight hill with rut in snow. I was in snow mode. Put it in 4 low and rocked back and forth about 5 times when there was a low bang from front end. Front wheels no longer spin with rear wheels and loud banging grinding noise when trying to move. Like something stripped. Towed out of snow. Tried driving on dry pavement in Normal mode and still makes really bad noise in front end. There is also gear oil dripping from front end. Jeep taken to dealer by flat bed.

Based on my experience this vehicle is not "Trail Rated". Manufacture defect? I did not get anywhere near stressing it. To much torque with Diesel?

Any comments from forum. I will keep all posted

Word from the dealer is that the front differential housing is cracked. They said no sign of abuse. No dents or scratches on kick plate. Just one of those things that happen. They are fixing under warranty no charge. The old housing will be sent back to Chrysler engineering for failure analysis. Jeep out for a week minimum.

Got My Jeep Back. They replaced the front differential under warranty. They said "Found front diff broken due to lose bolts on right extension housing".

It may be wise to check these bolts on your 2014 Jeep 4X4s.
