How is the DEF Indicator reset after a refill. When first refilled at the dealer, the DEF did not reset and indicated 20%. I attempted the push the accelerator 3 times within 10 secs with the battery on. The indicator did reset to 100% - but, has moved since - stuck on 100%. JAH Sr

It's an ultrasonic level sensor and the logic in the module that reads it has a very slow averaging algorithm. Drive the vehicle for a period of time and it will update. There is no reset procedure. The manual states not to add less than 2 gallons (I think) for some reason.

If you continue to have issues, you may have an earlier build that requires a TSB update (software) to improve the DEF level indication. Mine is one of the first off the line and my DEF level takes 20 minutes to update. Once it showed empty when it wasn't empty and a restart corrected it. I have since had all software updates through late August performed...no issues since.

My diesel has a build date of April 2014 and had a software update several weeks ago - thanks for the information. JAH SR
