Does anyone have any information on why the introduction of the diesel in the 2014 Grand Cherokee has been delayed in the U.S.? Originally it was supposed to be March, then April, then May, then June. I went to a local dealership last week and they said the earliest they will get delivery is now October. I've written 2 letters to Jeep in the past 3 months, and their response is always vague. But they did confirm that their delivery goal is currently October. I'm curious if anyone else has any info?

I've called three dealerships just now and gotten the same runaround. They either don't know anything about why it's delayed or don't want to say.

Just called the Jeep 1-800 number and they are saying October release. She went on to say that we can call for updates but the stealership has the same info and usually just doesn't want to look it up.

The delay is due to an EPA certification issue. Either they have to pass more tests or it was a paperwork goof-up.
