correct, Fiat 50% and GM 50%. Fiat is suppling the mutijet2 (I believe) fuel system for the engine to run.

also, check out the Diesel Power Magazine story on the new VM engine. Gale Banks is buying them to hot rod. He said they look like a very strong engine. We will see what the master will do with this engine now!

Here's a good article/video from Jonny Lieberman. He pits the 2013 Volkswagen Touareg TDI against the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4x4 Ecodiesel. From off road capabilities to interior luxuries, Jonny drags these diesels through the dirt providing in depth driving impressions as well as some insight on why more manufacturers should adopt diesel technology.

Check it out here: Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel vs Volkswagen Touareg

VW has enough on their plate right now. I would say I would still buy one however i would rather there be more approved options for maintenance and oils that are more cost and customer friendly. Overall the DEF and the DPF imho has been solid. i like the jeep and I plan on watching my wife roll 100k next year.

Love the jeep ecodiesel! I got one in fall of 2013. What got me looking at the diesel was the TDI VW. It seemed "peppier", put a smile on my face when test driving, kinda like a little school girl (all giddy). LOVE the jeep, however just haven't had that same school girl feeling, seat of the pants, fun factor, driving experience as the VW.

The way the hitch attaches to the Touareg results in the VW manual not recommending a WDH. The VW is more like this ll and less like this =. ll can result is this l/. Or this l\. = means twice the legal towing capacity. ll means be careful.
