please don't forget that the Europeans have a different test cycle for testing mileage. I believe that this is the same engine tuned for U.S. emissions.

Epa

You can thank the idiots at the EPA for them numbers..... I will guarantee you when the guys like myself strip the crap off it and some computer reprogramming gets done, it will be in the high 30's....
I have an Excursion with a Cummins, and an Allison, 36" tires, and a baja rack that gets 27.... that Jeep will be Awesome when the Blue Collar men get ahold of it. I cant wait for it to be in my garage....

30 mpg is that all?

I think 30 mpg is very good, because the Grand Cherokee is a very heavy vehicle. My 2011 CRD does 28 mpg and is less than the Hyundai Tucson I had with only a 2.0 4 cyl engine crd . I'm pleased with the consumption but not with the road taxes.........

was reading an article the other day in "Ecocar'" or something, the jurnos were trying to replicate the claimed manufacturers fuel use for a number of current VW diesels, what a joke it was. even with the most conservative go pedal use none of the journalists could match the manufacturers driver (Ed Ordynski - rally driver) frugal use of go juice.
real world driving fuel use and claimed fuel consumption figures from manufacturers are, as i am sure many know, completely different. having said that, and article in "The Motor Report" (2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review | Laredo V6 Petrol 4x2, Overland V6 Diesel 4x4, And SRT 6.4 Litre V8 | Reviews | Prices | Australian specifications) claims fuel use on test of 12.7l/100km = 18.6mpg(US), pretty good for a 2300kg motor (=5000 plus lbs, i think?).
looking forward to friday!!:)

If you do get yours on Friday.... Which it may be there already... then you will be the first one I know of on this forum to actually have one. Which is kinda cool because you are like the last one to become a member. I wish you the best of luck.. and look forward to hearing from you.
