New member and first post!!
We have a 14 JGC EcoDiesel and had the first oil change done yesterday at the dealer. I took the dealer 7.5 qts of Pennzoil Euro L and the Mopar filter. When I checked the oil last night and this morning it was just below the minimum line. I added 20 ozs of oil and it is now half way between min and max level on the dipstick. It took about two hours to get the oil change done as there was a recall and a couple of software updates so they let the oil drain forever.
So if the vehicle calls for 8 qts and I took 7 1/2 qts and then added over a half of a qt at home and it only filled to half way between minimum and max then this doesn't make sense as engine has over 8 qts in it. The owners manual says it is 1.7 qt. between min and max line. Every vehicle I have ever owned - if I take the exact amount called for to an oil change then it gets overfilled so I always take about a 1/2 qt less and it is usually right on or just a hair below and I adjust at home.
What has your experience been with oil changes for the JGC ED - do you take 8 qts and it is right on - high, low? I hope being a hair below the min line didn't cause an issue - no oil pressure lights or anything came on and it had 7.5 qt. in it or should have as that is what I took. I know I am being paranoid as LOVE this vehicle.
