Welcome to the forum. The diesel GC is no better or worse than any other GC. I would say that it depends on what you plan to do to it and on how you plan to use it.

I would like to know this too! I just bought a 2008 GC WK diesel and am contemplating a suspension upgrade as I figure the shocks/springs are all original. Would a 2" lift do much? I am not into rock crawling, but like to get out in the rough sometimes for hiking, and mushroom foraging.

3" is an ideal height for slightly larger tires and a better 'stance'. No reason not to upgrade the diesel Jeeps. Enjoy them.
