I only expect to use my GC Diesel for occasionally fun trips. Maybe once every two or so weeks. I did not buy it as a commuter vehicle. How long can the diesel sit without being started? I understand there may be an issue with the turbo if the engine is not run often.

I have a Prius I use for work.... and write off the mileage on my taxes... and the jeep is for personal use. I just don't go a lot of places through the week in the winter. If I were to let it set for more than a week at a time I would invest in a battery tender and perhaps stabilizer for the fuel.... other than that I would make it a point to take it out on the highway and get it up to speed for about 30 minutes or so every two weeks.... I would however refrain from starting it to let it warm up without actually going anywhere. Perhaps others on this forum might have more to add... but that's pretty much how I see it. I know of some snow birds who let vehicle set for six months while and fly back and forth.... I personally would not recommend the JGC for that.

Excellent advice.

Diesel fuel doesn't last as long as gasoline but there are stabilizers available.

A trickle charger is a must. These are electronic wonders today but they are ALWAYS drawing a charge from your battery.

The charger will keep it fresh.

Would probably invest in earlier oil changes, filter changes (except air) as well if she sits.

Just my humble $.02
