NOOB here, who has unsuccessfully searched the forum for this subject. I'm probably going to buy a new JGC, and am wondering if I will be able to fuel up in Mexico without damaging any of the car's systems, and voiding the warranty. I ask, because I believe that Mexican diesel fuel is of the high sulfur content type, although I'm not certain of that. I am not talking about an occasional fill up just across the border; I am talking about traveling in Mexico for months at a time.

More research has shown that taking a car to Mexico that runs on ULSD (15 ppm) is a bad idea if one will be traveling there for an extended period. Except in northern Baja and the area around Mexico City, ULSD is not available. Generally, Mexican diesel fuel, being of the standard high sulfur content (200 ppm), or at best having a low sulfur content (50 ppm), is not suitable, and using it will void the warranty.

It looks like I will be keeping my Liberty and searching for a Cummings powered 2004-2006 Dodge pickup. I hate having to reject the Grand Cherokee.
