My GC keeps on getting the loud diesel rattle between 1500rpm and 2000rpm and the motor seems sluggish through that range. Every time I take it into the dealer they simply fiddle with the software or upgrade it and the rattle goes away and sluggishness is not noticeable only to return a couple of weeks later. Getting rather tired of going back every few weeks. So a couple of questions:

1. What is really going on?
2. How is this permanently cured?
3. Could this mean I may be parting with many dollars in the future?

Hmm- wonder if 'fuel contamination'? Maybe drain water separator* (*which would give you a dash alarm if water did need drained). Try an additive would be other suggestion. I use OPTI-LUBE on regular basis, which is one of the better ones. (I currently have 6K on mine- running great).
