Has anyone had their 2014 in for oil upgrade to Rotella 5w40 ????

Here's my latest. Despite the TSB saying it applied to ALL pre-2016 ecodiesels, the dealership says my VIN is not recognized for that TSB so I would have to pay for oil. They did say the flash upgrades had been done AND it was OK if I went to the 5w40 Shell. Which I'm sure I can get done cheaper elsewhere

It was just done as a regular oil change - I didn't take it in especially to have them switch the oil out. When you mention flash upgrades, I'm not sure what you mean. More times than not when I've had my Jeep in for regular maintenance, they've applied any PCM upgrades at the time it is in there. It doesn't happen every time, but it has happened several times. I think the last big upgrade done was the gear shift software upgrade, but that's been some time ago.

But as a CYA, I'm having them do it and I'll have it done elsewhere next time.

I took my to 2 diff dealers & both said mine wasn't included in TSB. I used Rotella one time & noticed it seemed to burn more oil. I switched to Delo & haven't noticed as much drop in oil consumption. I used to have a Cummins that would burn the Rotella. My old Duramax did fine with the Rotella.
