Hey everyone, I just bought myself a sweet little diesel wk2. Love it, but it needs a stage 1 tune asap, maybe even stage 2 eventually. I've been reading a ton about the different tunes available, and with the advent of AlfaOBD being able to write VINs now, I was curious, could we share tune files with eachother? How hard would it be to share the different tune files with eachother? What would be needed to make changes to the ECU file?

no Idea. But I sure would like to know some software that could look at our ECUs that we have and see what’s going on for sure instead of taking it to the stealership all the time.

With current AlfaOBD, no way to use it to share ECM programming. Alfa allows you to change parameters already on the ECMs. You'll have to bench flash to do what you're talking about. Sharing files is a touchy subject regarding who actually owns the programming.

And usually someone that does the tuning had to have your vin so they can write it into your tune. So I think each time is locked to a vin. And that probably kills sharing files.
