Supposedly a software update, not yet approved will fix the p0171. I called the dealer on this a few days ago, still no word.

P-0171 Code System Lean
I owned the Jeep Eco for eight months now and it's been in the shop for 25 days. First was a right sunroof rattle in which they had to drop the headliner to tighten rail bolts never tightened by the robot on the assembly line.
Went through the usual two Cat codes, flashes and updates and now P-0171 System Lean is on it's third time. As usual they are scratching their heads. First changed a supposedly bad exhaust gasket (after cat replacement) then second event tightened air cleaner clamps for a week.
Anyone experience this one before and how did they rectify?
It's been in the shop since Wednesday morning the 19th (3 days as of this date).

August 19 to September 10, still in the shop 21 days now. They say it's the O2 sensor and no parts available until the 21st and that's with a rush.
Total time in the shop since purchased in December 2014 is 42 days.

I think I had a similar code P0174 IIRC...the fix was to replace all the fuel lines and injectors. Had to go to Chrysler as a STAR case...

No more concerns. The car has been in the shop this time over a month and Jeep offered me my money back.

Can you share any details on how the buy-back worked. I bought my JGC diesel November 2013 and have had several problems - it's now back in the shop for SCR Cat replacement. was told it would be a half day repair, well that was several days ago and now they're saying it needs more parts. would rather have them buy it back and move on to some other type of vehicle.No more concerns. The car has been in the shop this time over a month and Jeep offered me my money back.

When the new vehicle is safely in my garage I'll brief but it went very smooth. The "official" paperwork is still in the mail.
