No matter which site I go to nobody seems to have an idea other than, "soon". Does anybody know when I can order mine and when shipments start going out? I've been waiting specifically for the diesel and its exciting that its almost here!

Dealer just called me :
Expect to have pricing and order forms middle of next month
Expect deliver 60+ days after order
Told him to continue to call me as it happens. The delay definitely is a negative. I hope they have some incentives. I am not impressed with the mileage of gas version of the new compared with the old and might just end up keeping my 2006 Hemi. The diesel just seems to over come this concern, although all warn of first year models.

Just ordered my Overland on Friday, dealership did not know of a build date but they said the more orders they send the sooner they expect a shipment.

I'm sorry but if your dealership took your $$ on a diesel they aren't being very ethical. The more orders they send in will not speed up the production. It doesn't work that way. How many other dealers have you spoken with? You should ask to get your $$ back until they are certain that the diesel is in production. We should hear something this upcoming week for confirmation.

I called Jeep and the official word from them is October release date.
I didn't know there was a diesel Jeep forum and stumbled upon this looking for a release date. So here I am and can not wait to order my wife's, yes she wants it, WK2.

This is why I chose to buy a 2013 Touareg TDI in late April for my towing needs. I can't wait till the Fall for the American built unicorn to appear. So far no complaints on the VW, it was also close to $45k. I am definitely going to be watching the Jeep reliability stats when it's out for more than a year. I want to know if that VM Motori engine and ZF tranny is the real deal.

I am glad you mentioned that. I will not order one until I get to actually drive it and able to compare ride quality, shifting etc with the Touareg, GL350 and Audi Q7...maybe the Porsche but that is in the mid 50's and a bit outside the price range I want to stay at.

Was told by local dealer that their Chrysler rep told him they were supposed to be available for order in July but it will more than likely be August.

From the dealer today 7.31.13 . Told that fall is the expected available range. Dealership will only get 1-2 models for sale, people will have to special order.
Not very happy about this whole roll out. So if you like it and want to order it and wait for what 60-90 days?

Dealer in Littleton NH told me today -7 Aug - that they will be able to order Diesel GC's beginning 9 Aug.

I was just in a dealer the other day told them I was going to wait to order a diesel even though they wanted to sell me a new gasser in stock of course.
Does anyone know what kind of holdbacks the dealers get on Grand Cherokees? The sales man negotiated with me on a gas one and was at invoice price (after my friend got tough with him) but from the reading online I've done looks like you can get deals under invoice price.
I have to get my diesel order in soon, first ever new car!

Just ordered our limited today, received invoice price on it. Said 6-8 week wait for delivery.
