I have test driven the JGC several times and really like it, but I am concerned about the way my thigh rest very close to the shifter button. Has anyone had issues of knocking the shifter from Drive to Park by accident? I have tried adjusting the seat several different ways and every time my knee or thigh is resting on or very close to the shifter.

Any advice or thoughts are welcome.

I don't care much for the shifter at all. Sometimes I have difficulty getting from D to P on purpose. It does not feel very positive. But I think its all electronic and once the car is moving it is inactive. But I had assumed that and nothing to base this on except the fell of it. Perhaps you could go for another test drive and try to move it with your knee. It sounds like a legitimate concern. Better to do it in an controlled situation with a car you don't own........ I'm betting it won't be a problem.

I'm 6'4" 230lbs. Driven our JGC over 8,000 miles with no issues relative to accidentally changing the shifter position.

I tried it on the way to work... I nudged it with my hand while in drive. It just goes to neutral. Need to push silver button to go to reverse or park. Not gonna do that.
Thanks Casper, next time I go for a test drive, I try moving with hand to see how much pressure is needed to move the shifter to neutral.

Thanks Snowbird, Good to hear.. Is your knee or thigh resting close to the shifter?
