My Cherokee 3.0 Echo diesel has Twice now been OVERFILLED with 3.5 quarts of oil during oil changes at 2 different dealerships!!!!
I've been told it's an easy mistake as the 3.0 ECHO is in their 1500 RAM and takes 10.5 quarts vs my Jeep taking 7.5.
In BOTH Cases the DPF filter hit 100% and required dealership intervention. In this second case I was only able to drive 139 miles, before I was required to return to the dealership. Unfortunately the first time it was driven 2000 miles, and during that 2000 miles it went into auto regen every 250-350 miles.
My question to all the experts reviewing this forum is ;
1) Having happened twice to myself, is this a wide spread mistake ?
2) What permeant damage and future problems may I expect to incur ?
3) Has this honest mistake ever caused catastrophic engine failures to the echo diesel engines ?
