To read these forums you'd think that the JGC Ecodiesel was nothing but trouble.

Only owned mine for a little over 2(two) weeks.

Fine vehicle, love the torquey diesel.

No DEF issues and i've purchased the correct oil and filters when the oil change is required.

Anybody out there happy with their vehicle.

Trouble free miles and glad they purchased it.

I, for one(1), can be counted in that catagory for now.

Love to hear from others.

Knock on wood- my 14' has been fine. I did have a few 'phantom' DEF system codes back in summer with 3- 4000 miles on it (Message would appear for day and disappear the next about 'see dealer- DEF system'. Coming up on 8,000 without any issues after getting latest software updates and the 1st oil change done at around 5000 miles. I think Chrysler will work things out- especially since over 15% of RAM pickups were sold with this engine!

Side note: started right up and ran good after sitting at work parking lot at -17 degrees overnight. (I'm using OPTI-LUBE Winter formula in it).
Problems with my cat didn't appear until 8500 miles....... I have a thousand on my new one (12000 on the vehicle) and no CEL's so far. But I will not say it's clear until the R (rejection sticker) is off my windshield. Apparently because of the DEF's freezing the new cat won't clear until warmer weather. So it will be another month or so before I know for sure.

Still I do not regret having purchased the vehicle. My dealership has addressed all problems under warranty and with as little impact on me as possible.

I believe fresh DEF is important..... So why all this emphasis on topping off. It doesn't stop aging when you put it in the tank.

Purchased in October, 2014, now 4,600 miles, trouble free. Add DEF message came up at 3,900 miles so I assume the selling dealer (don't ask!!!) didn't give the Jeep to me with full fluids. I used Mopar at $9.30 per gallon. I'll use Mopar for now.

Very happy with comfort, performance and style.

Fingers crossed!
-Bought JGC ECO in April 2014.
-have done 3 oil changes.
-just hit 19,000
-pulled 5,000 pound trailer twice in 90 degree weather over Mt passes for a few hours. Temp got just below the the red but never above. Had it in ECO mode & kept tranny in auto.
-broke DEF injector hose driving thru a puddle.(dealership fixed it, no charge). Installed a protection plate from jeepecodieselfix.
- Trouble free since.

Three oil changes in 19,000 miles is absurd. You need the "tsb" for the oil change to get you to 10,000 mark per oil change. Three oil changes should be at 30,0000.

Purchased mine in April 2014 just shy of 18k miles. Completely trouble free. My oil change average is 6000 miles. Very happy with the oil burner
14 Summit, just shy of 7k miles and nothing but perfection so far. 1800 mi with 4k plus trailer when brand new and I confirmed why I bought the oil burner. Love my JGC, my sixth Jeep.
Good call kvtcomdo....I was just thinking, it'd be nice to start a thread of JGC success stories. I've been through the trials and tribulations of DEF lights, got the new cat, and have loved this platform from the day I drove it off the lot...I look foward to being 10,000 miles further down the road and being able to say all is well. I'm very interested in how others fare post-cat installation....

Getting ready to hit 15K miles in my '14 Limited Diesel. NO ISSUES what so ever with the engine. No problem starting outside when it was -19F and block heater was not plugged in. Was at work overnight and even though it sounded kinda rough...started right up and heated up quick.
Only issue I had was that I had to upgrade the navigation display. Said I had an SRT model and lived in Texas where actually I live in Maine.
Only problem now is that I have a low windshield washer fluid level light on where it is not empty. Used some prestone washer fluid early on and have since used cheap wally brand blue fluid.
I only used MOPAR DEF fluid and have done my own oil change using the same Penzoil oil from the dealer and MOPAR filter. Do Amazon search and will save some money.

Grand Cherokee with 4X4. 13000 miles with only one problem. During assembly bolt not tightened in front differential that lead to replacement of front end under warranty. See earlier post. Getting 27MPG in city and 30-31 on highway. Very happy with vehicle.

Except for rather exasperating initial problems previously posted, my JGC has been a pleasure since converter was replaced; currently at 17 K.
My '14 Ecodiesel has 26,000 miles on it. It's been out of service for 33 days in the fourteen months since I bought it. The last time I picked it up from the dealer was two days ago. The check again light came on again today. I'm out having a spot of lunch while they work on it again.

Have you had your cat replaced already? Any word from dealer what problem is?

The cat was replaced last summer. Yesterday the dealer said it needed to be replaced again, but they can't order the part. On the phone I told Jeep corporate I wanted my money back or a new car and apparently because of that Jeep corporate won't authorize a repair. I was also told they won't pay for a rental. So I'm driving with the check engine light on while they try to figure out what they're going to do next. I have a long trip coming up in a few days. Should be interesting.

This is the worst new vehicle experience I've had and I've bought many new vehicles over the years both personally and at work. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. #JEEPECODIESELFAIL

Was it the new cat? Ab at the end of part number or aa

I don't know. It's been in and out of the shop throwing codes, needing reflashes, needing other DEF parts. I'm done with this thing. I don't care it it dances and whistles Dixie when they are through repairing it. Really, I don't even want them to repair it any more, at least not for me.

Edited to add: I called the dealer. The cat they put in last summer was an AA, not an AB. That's why they now want to put in an AB. Why didn't they do that sooner? Why make me bring the thing back time and again? Chrysler's company culture seems to be seriously dysfunctional.
